Eskom invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the construction of Masa Ngwedi Section C & D 765kV Transmission lines, over a 09 months period.

The construction will be done in accordance with Eskom’s design and specifications. The scope of work consists of the following:• Supply and transport of galvanised 765kV transmission towers;• Assembly of 765kV towers;• Erection of 765kV towers;• Stringing of 40km of 765kV Transmission line on Masa Ngwedi Section C;• Stringing of 40km of 765kV Transmission line on Masa Ngwedi Section D;• Repairing existing access, creating and maintaining access for construction purposes;• Bush clearing for access and construction purposes;• Stringing/regulation with 6xTern phase conductor;• Stringing/regulation earth conductor;• Installation of line labels, bird-diverters and aircraft warning devices;• Rehabilitation of groundwork damage and implementation of environmental requirements.The Insulators, Suspension and Strain Hardware assemblies, Earthwire hardware assemblies, phase Conductor, Earthwire and rigid spacers will be free issued.This invitation for bid follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in UN Development Business of July 8, 2010.Bidding will be conducted through bidding procedures specified in the World Bank's Procurement Regulations for IBF Borrowers of 2018 and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bidding documents at Eskom Head Office, Megawatt Park, Maxwell Drive, Sunninghill, Johannesburg, South Africa, during office hours 09H00 to 15H00 (RSA time).
