Request for Expression of Interest on

Consultancy Services for Rehabilitation of

the Existing   Morupule   Power Station

[ This is NOT Part of the World Bank-Financed Projet]

The Botswana Power Corporation (BPC), the national power utility of the Republic of Botswana responsible for generation, transmission, distribution and supply of electricity in Botswana owns and operates a 132MW thermal dry cooled power station (Morupule A) which was commissioned in 1986.

Morupule A power station requires to be refurbished after 24 years ofoperation in order to restore its dependable capacity to the originaldesign output levels of 120MW (sent out capacity).

BPC requires services of qualified and experienced consultants to assist the Corporation with the assessment of the above mentioned power plant, scoping the refurbishment works, preparation of bid documents, evaluation of proposals from bidders and managing the refurbishment project.

Botswana Power Corporation would like to invite eligible consultantsto indicate their   interest to provide the above mentioned services.

Interested consultants are required to:

• Provide information indicating that they are experienced and qualified to perform the services by submitting company profile, description of similar assignments ,with   references and a list of referees   of such completed tasks; availability of staff and appropriate skills among staff with detailed organisation structure for the Project Team.

• Any other relevant information to demonstrate capacity and capability of the consultant   or its partners to execute the Consultancy Services.

The Corporation will shortlist (pre-qualify) consultants based on assessment of the received expressions of interest. Short listed service providers would be invited to tender for the required services by responding to a detailed Request for Proposal   ( RfP).

The Corporation is not obliged to give reasons for not shortlisting any or all firms responding to this Expression of Interest.

This call for Expressions of Interest closes at 12h00 noon on 8th October 2010

The requisite documentation   should be deposited in the tender box situated in the foyer of Botswana Power Corporation, Motlakase House, Macheng Way, Gaborone, Botswana,   provided that they are marked   as follows.
