Assignment Title: Consultancy services – Fisheries Specialist

The Government of Mauritius has received financing from the World Bank for the Rodrigues Airport Project, which has been co-financed by the European Union, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

The Fisheries Specialist in the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) will lead in coordinating the execution of fisheries activities of the Rodrigues Airport Project and report to the PIU Project Coordinator/Manager. He/she will ensure proper planning, implementation and monitoring of activities, to ensure timely execution that all component activities are implemented effectively, and in a timely manner in accordance with the implementation plan.

The tentative investment activities related to fisheries-related activities that have been identified by the RRA to support the strengthening of the local food systems include the following:

• Support to professional fishermen in the development of a Rodrigues Off-lagoon Scheme

• Value addition and improved post-harvest practices

• Improvements in stock assessment and scientific basis for fisheries management

• Monitoring Control System (MCS) and Safety of Life at Sea

• Strengthening Institutional Capacity and improved Co-management, and

• Improved Coastal and Marine Ecosystem Management

The scope of services includes but is not limited to the following key activities for Component 3 as described in the detailed Terms of Reference.

Airports of Mauritius Co. Ltd (AML) now invites eligible Individual Consultants (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Individuals should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services.

A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Selection of Individual Consultants method set out in the Procurement Regulations.
