Regional Chief Transacti ons Advisor - Power Infrastructure

Johannesburg, South Africa

The Southern African Power Pool (SAPP) andthe World Bank have

designed a program in order to advance thepreparati on of selected

priority regional energy projects in the SAPP parti cipati ng countries. This

senior role in the region will see you acti ng both as an Advisor to Senior

Management of Uti liti es and Senior Policy Makers and performing a

senior leadership role for the new high calibre Projects Advisory Unit

(PAU) being set up under the SAPP/SADC in Johannesburg.

KPA's: _ Guide the PAU Team, uti lity staff and government offi cials

engaged in PPP design, technical and fi nancial feasibility, and regulatory

issues relati ng to infrastructure _ Work and advise on the development

of appropriate project structures with a view to att racti ng private

sector investment, and opti mizing the mixof fi nancial instruments

_ Lead the PAU's contributi ons and collaborati on with partners; clients;

governments; SADC and fi nancing insti tuti ons; SAPP members in the

identi fi cati on of a pipeline of qualifying infrastructure projects and the

use of funding available for preparati on in the region, including funding

being made available to the PAU by the World Bank and other donors.

Essenti al criteria: You will boast extensive internati onal experience,

preparing and implementi ng large, complexinfrastructure investments

with a proven track record in high-level positi ons related to the

planning, packaging, fi nancing and/or management of infrastructure

investments with private parti cipati on. A proven working track record

with commercial banks and equity investorsis essenti al. Master's deg.

in commerce / equivalent + 15 yrs relevantenergy sector transacti on

experience in private sector with collaborati on and high level exposure

to public sector.
