• The Government of the Botswana has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) of the World Bank Group ("referred to the advertas Bank") in various currencies towards the cost of the Morupule B Generation and Transmission Project. It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for Power Supply to Morupule B Well Fields in Mmashoro Village Area.

• The Botswana Power Corporation now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the construction and completion of112 Km of 33kV 3 single line rabbit conductor overhead lines; installation of 21 No. 33/0.4kV 50kVA-3PH Pole Mounted Transformers; installation of 3 No.33/0.4kV 100kVA-3PH Pole Mounted Transformers;installation of 2 No. 25kVA single phase 33/0.5kV Auxiliary Transformers; associated site survey, excavation and clearance works; wood structures and supports; metering, safety and protection equipment and cabling ("the Facilities"). International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with the Bank's Single-Stage Bidding Procedure. Eligible bidders are required to have at least 5 years proven track record during which they performed a minimum of 3 contracts each comprising at least 100Km of 11kV or 33kV wood pole distribution lines and at least 20 units of 25 to 100KvA transformers. Each of the 3 contracts must be of at least US$2.3million (or equivalent).

• A Site Visit organized by Botswana Power Corporation will take placeon 26th of May 2011.

• The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the Bank Standard Bidding Documents: Procurement of Plant Design, Supply, and Installation, April 2008 revised August 2010.

• Bids must be delivered to the Tender Box located atSupply Chain Offices, Botswana Power Corporation, Motlakase House, 1222 Industrial Sites, Macheng Way, GABORONE, BOTSWANA, on or before 10:00 hrs Local Timeon 24th of June 2011 and must be accompanied by a security of not less than US$30,000. Late Bids will be rejected.
