RECRUITMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL RISK MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST TO SUPPORT INVESTING IN FORESTS AND PROTECTED AREAS FOR CLIMATE SMART DEVELOPMENT PROJECT (IFPA-CD)

The Government of Uganda has received financing from the World Bank towards the cost of the Investing in Forests and Protected Areas for Climate Smart Development (IFPA-CD) Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds for Recruitment of an Environmental Risk Management Specialist

The project is being implemented by the Ministry of Water and Environment (MWE -Lead Agency), Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) and National Forest Authority (NFA) with the involvement of the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities (MTWA) in tourism-related activities.

The Project Development Objective (PDO) is to improve sustainable management of forests and protected areas and increase benefits to communities from forests in target landscapes.

The applicants are encouraged to carefully review the full job details and requirements as detailed in the Terms of Reference (TOR) which can be accessed at https://www.mwe.go.ug/library/tendersprocurement. Eligible candidates are also encouraged to physically pick the TOR from the Procurement and Disposal Unit, Ground Floor, Ministry of Water and Environment (Headquaters) at plot 3-7 Kabalega Cresent, Luzira

The MWE now invites suitably qualified individual consultants, with qualifications and experience as detailed in terms of reference to apply for the position of Environmental Risk Management Specialist for the above project. The successful candidate/ consultant will be required to commence work as soon as he/she is selected. The assignment shall be for a period of two years subject to probation period of six months, and is renewable subject to satisfactory performance.

The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to Section III, paragraphs, 3.14, 3.16, and 3.17 of the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” dated November 2020 (“Procurement Regulations”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.

A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Individual Consultant Selection method set out in the Procurement Regulations.
