Procurement of Furniture

1 This invitation for bids follows the General Procurement Notice approved for this project that appeared in STEP, issue of 31st July 2024.

2 The Government of Sierra Leone has received financing from the World Bank under the Sierra Leone Free Education Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds towards payments under the contract for the Procurement of furniture for newly built classrooms in 16 districts' education offices, under the Ministry. Namely: Pujehun, Bo, Bonthe, Kenema, Kailahun, Koinadugu, Moyamba, Tonkolili, Kono, Bombali, Falaba, Kerene, Port-Loko, Western Rural and Western urban.

3 The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for this procurement, supply, and delivery of these materials in three lots, composed of the items listed below to the 16 districts' education offices stated below: Distribution list to schools is attached for ease of reference.

5 Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD loans and IDA Credits and is open to all interested bidders within Sierra Leone as defined in the Guidelines.

6 The interested bidders may obtain further information from the MBSSE Project Secretariat office, 126 SS Camp, Regent Road, Regent, Freetown, and inspect the bidding documents.

7 Qualification requirements include Power of Attorney, detailed technical specification, bid security, business registration, NASSIT, and evidence of similar supply and stated delivery period. Additional details are provided in the bidding document. Sample required for evaluation purpose/catalog.

8 A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Le 2,400.00 (Two Thousand, Four Hundred Leones). 9 Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before Wednesday 4th September, 2024. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidder representative who chooses to attend in person or online at the address below. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid security of Le 500,000.00 per lot or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.
