This invitation for bid follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in UN Development Business of 8 July 2010.

The Eskom Holding Limited has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) in various currencies towards the cost of the Construction of the following 400kV Transmission Lines which forms part of the Medupi Power Station Integration Scheme. The construction will be done in accordance with Eskom's design and specifications.

It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be appliedto eligible payments under the contract(s) for:

• SECTION E: MEDUPI # MARANG (Duration 18 months)

• Construction of 87km of 400kV Transmission Power Line of Medupi Marang
• SECTION F: SPITSKOP # DINALEDI (PART 1) (Duration 20 months)

• Construction of 56km of 400kV Transmission Power Lines of Spitskop Dinaledi 1
• Construction of 56km of 400kV Transmission Power Lines of Spitskop Dinaledi 2
• SECTION G: SPITSKOP # DINALEDI (PART 2) (Duration 20 months)

• Construction of 57km of 400kV Transmission Power Lines of Spitskop Dinaledi 1
• Construction of 57km of 400kV Transmission Power Lines of Spitskop Dinaledi 2

The Eskom Holdings Limited now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the construction and completion of 400kV Transmission Lines which forms part of the Medupi Power Station Integration Scheme ( "the Facilities"). International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with the Bank's Single stage Bidding Procedure. Eligible bidders will have experience under contracts in the role of contractor, subcontractor,or management contractor for at least the last ten [10] years prior to the applications submission deadline.

A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to [email protected] and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of: ZAR 4000.

Interested eligible bidders may collect the bidding document at theirown cost at the office of Eskom, 1 Eglin Road, Sanhill Park, Building 4, Sunninghill Ext 3, Sandton during office hours 09h00 # 15h30 (SA time). Collection will start from 15 November 2010. Dispatch of documents can be requested via courier or mail, bidders are to make the necessary arrangements at their own cost with any courier or mail company of their choice to collectthe documents from the office of Eskom as stated above, provided Eskom has received the non-refundable fee. The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the Bank Standard Bidding Documents: Procurement of Plant Design, Supply and Installation, April 2008 (revised August 2010).

Bids must be delivered to Eskom The Tender Office, Main Reception, Ground Floor, Megawatt Park, Maxwell Drive, Sunninghill Ext 3, Sandton on or before 10H00 on 14 January 2011and must be accompanied by a security of Section E # ZAR 1 040 000, Section F # ZAR 1 310 000, Section G # ZAR 1 340 000 amount in a freely convertible currency.

Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend at 10H00 14 January 2011at The Tender Office, Main Reception, Ground Floor, Megawatt Park, Maxwell Drive, Sunninghill Ext 3, Sandton.

Late bids will be rejected.
