REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST IN A PROCUREMENT ASSISTANT POSITION: REF NO; UG-MAAIG-479821-CS-INDV
The Government of Uganda has received funding from the World Bank for the Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project (UCSATP). The primary objective of the project is to "increase productivity, market access, and resilience of selected value chains in the project area, covering 69 districts, and to respond promptly and effectively to eligible crises or emergencies." The project is being executed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries (MAAIF).
UCSATP now invites suitably qualified and experienced individuals to express interest in the position of Procurement Assistant. The procurement Assistant will assist the Procurement Officer in ensuring the timely acquisition of goods, works, non-consulting services, and consulting services. The selected Procurement Assistant will adhere to the World Bank Procurement Regulations for Investment Project Financing (IPF) borrowers (Fifth Edition, September 2023), as well as the established procedures and guidelines outlined under the project.
Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the following minimum qualifications and relevant experience to perform the services:
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Law, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or a closely related field.
Experience:
- At least three (03) years of experience in Public Procurement
- Working knowledge of PPDA Act and Regulations, and World Bank Procurement Regulations or any other Multilateral Development Banks Procurement Guidelines
- use of an integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) and Electronic Procurement.

The selection will be conducted in accordance with the procedures for selection of Individual Consultants set out in the World Bank Procurement Regulations for Investment Project Financing (IPF) Borrowers (Fifth Edition, September2023). The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to Section III, paragraphs, 3.14, 3.16, and 3.17 of the Procurement Regulations setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
Interested eligible applicants should submit expressions of interest including a cover letter, current Curriculum Vitae and copies of Academic/ Professional Certificates and Transcripts to demonstrate that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the services; to be received not later than 1700hrs on April 1st, 2025, at the address indicated below.
