  • The Government of Uganda received financing from the World Bank towards the cost of Investing in Forests and Protected Areas for Climate Smart Development Projects, and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Training of the Batwa people living around UWA protected Areas in Livelihood and Enterprise Development Knowledge and skills “For this contract, the Borrower shall process the payments using the Direct Payment disbursement method, as defined in the World Bank’s Disbursement Guidelines for Investment Project Financing.
  • The Uganda Wildlife Authority now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for Training of the Batwa people living around UWA protected Areas in Livelihood and Enterprise Development Knowledge and skills.
  • Bidding will be conducted through Open National approach using a Request for Bids (RFB) as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers -” April 2021 of applicable Procurement Regulations edition as per legal agreement] (“Procurement Regulations”), and is open to all eligible Bidders (or only to prequalified Bidders as the case may be) as defined in the Procurement Regulations.
  • Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from UWA-Procurement and Disposal Unit, Contact; Mack Opowo, [email protected] and inspect the bidding document during office hours 0900 to 1600 hours at the address given below.
  • The bidding document in English language may be purchased by interested eligible Bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of UGX 100,000 or in a convertible currency. The method of payment will be Cash in the UWA cash office. The document will be given out to the bidders in hard copy at PDU office Number UG 05.
  • Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 11:00am, 5th April, 2024. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below at 11:30am, on 5th April, 2024.
  • All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Securing declaration valid up to 17th May, 2024.
  • “Attention is drawn to the Procurement Regulations requiring the Borrower to disclose information on the successful bidder’s beneficial ownership, as part of the Contract Award Notice, using the Beneficial Ownership Disclosure Form as included in the bidding document.”
