Welcome to the Bidanga Blog
An introduction to the Bidanga blog — your reference for African public procurement, government tenders, and OCDS data across 54 countries.
Welcome to the Bidanga Blog — our editorial space dedicated to public procurement in Africa.
Why this blog exists
Every year, African governments and institutions publish tens of thousands of public tenders across more than 45 different portals, in five major working languages. For a business, a consultant or a journalist, monitoring this fragmented landscape is a full-time job.
The Bidanga platform aggregates all of these opportunities in one place. This blog tells the story behind the data: country guides, sector deep-dives, donor agency primers, and the annual State of African Public Procurement report.
What you will find here
- Country guides — how public procurement works in Kenya, Nigeria, Morocco, South Africa, Algeria and the other 49 African countries.
- Organisation guides — how to bid on UN, World Bank, African Development Bank or UNICEF contracts.
- Annual reports — the State of African Public Procurement, with original data from the Bidanga index.
- Method notes — how we collect, normalise and quality-check the data we publish.
