Eskom now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for: THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE MEDUPI – BORUTHO (SECTION A AND B) TRANSMISSION LINE OVER 18 MONTHS PERIOD The project will consist of the construction of part of the 400kV Transmission Power Line that forms part of the Medupi Power Station Integration Project. The construction will be done in accordance with Eskom's design and specifications. The scope of work consists of the following: o Access roads and infrastructure o Bush clearing o Tower foundations and stay wire foundations o Fabrication and erection of structural steel transmission towers o Installation of hardware, conductor and insulators o Tower assembly, stringing andlabelling o Transmission line regulating o A Fall Arrest System, the contractor shall notify the employer of the type of system that will be used and the fall arrest system shall be removed after completion of the activity. The consultant will serve as an assurance, advisory and monitoring body, thus ensuring that construction contractors comply with industry standards, specifications, practices, license agreements, environmental protection measures and applicable legislation and procedures.
