The project will consist of the construction of part of the 765kV and 400kV Transmission Power Lines that forms part of the Medupi Power Station Integration Project. The construction will be done in accordance with Eskom's design and specifications. The scope of work consists of the following: o Access Roads andInfrastructure o Bush Clearing o Tower Foundations and Stay Wire Foundations o Fabrication and Erection of Structural Steel Transmission Towers o Installation of Hardware, Conductor and Insulators o Tower Assembly, Stringing and Labelling o Transmission line regulating o A Fall Arrest System, the contractor shall notify the employer of the type of system that will be used and the fall arrest system shall be removed after completion of the activity. Eskom Holdings SOC Limited (Eskom) hasreceived financingfrom the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (WorldBank), African Development Bank (AfDB), Agence Française de Développment (AFD), European Investment Bank (EIB) and Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) towards the cost of the Eskom Renewables Support Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for a 100 MWe Concentrating Solar Power Plant, CED (S) 2011/CN/02. Eskom intends to prequalify contractors and/or firms for the Design, Supply, Installation, Operation and Maintenance of a minimum 100 MWe Central Receiver Concentrating Solar Power Plant, in Upington, Northern Cape, South Africa. It is expected that invitations for bid will be issued in April 2014. Prequalification will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004 (revised in October 2006 and May 2010), and is opento all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines. The Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Support services will include: •   Development and implementation of the Health, Safety and Environmental systems for the Project which are in line with the Employer's standards and specifications. •   Regular inspection, auditing and monthly reporting of site Health, Safety and Environmental performance, incidents and incidents investigations. •   Interfacing with contractors and stakeholders on behalf of the Employer on Health, Safety and Environmental related issues. •   Monitoring contractor compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental specifications, license agreements, applicable legislation and the Employer's policies and procedures. The period of the services is expected to be forty eight (48) months,which includes the construction activities and allowance of twelve (12) months of Defects Liability Period.
