The Republic of South Sudan has received financing from theInternational Development Association (IDA) towards the cost of the South Sudan Private Sector Development Project (PSDP), and intends to apply part of the proceeds for thepayment of this Individual consultant (IC) services. 2. The project supports; (a) Establishment of commercially -Viable Microfinance Institutions; (b) Promotion of Micro-Entrepreneurship by catalyzing entrepreneurship through a Business Plan Competition (BPC) for existing businesses and start-ups; (c) Mobile Payments and Trade Integration Policy, and (d) Institutional Strengthening of the South Sudan Business Forum and Project Management. 3. Theduties/scope of the consultant will include the following; The consultant shall be working closelywith the SSMDF Capacity Building Coordinator and in close cooperationwith other team members of the Facility and reports to the SSMDF Teamleader; some of the activities to be carried out include the following; i. Research, develop and implement a marketing and branding strategy for SSMDF, taking into account the current operating environment in South Sudan, the relationship with donor institutions, stakeholders and the clients; The strategy should include a corporate brand strategy,product strategy and product delivery strategy; ii. Design, coordinate and manage the preparation, implementation and dissemination of the marketing plan including helping to determine the best media for the dissemination of communication products and branding messages; iii. Liaise with key Microfinance investors, development partners and all relevant media outlets with the view of raisingSSMDF's visibility internationally; iv. Develop selected SSMDF's communication materials, including news briefs, brochures; short video documentaries by working on video scripts and provide editorial inputs for multimedia products such as slide shows and power point presentations to professionally present the SSMDF to external stakeholders v. Assistin tracking and effectively communicating the results and impacts of SSMDF's intervention in the Microfinance sector in South Sudan, via web-based tools including social media such as Facebook, blog and twitter for effective reporting and demonstration of SSMDF's value and impact; vi. Ensure the smooth implementation of all communications, branding and outreach activities, in coordination with SSMDF's team members; vii. Conduct any other assignment related to marketing, branding, communications and outreach as may be required by SSMDF. The consultancy is expected to cover a maximum of 90 working days, commencing in June 2014. 5. Location of the assignment. The consultant will be based in Juba with frequent travel to the field where institutions supported by South Sudan Microfinance Development Facility are based. 6. Selection Criteria: The selection shall be conducted based on qualification and experience of the candidates list below; i. A Bachelor's degree in Business or Economics or related discipline from an accredited college or University. A Master degree in Marketing would be an added advantage. ii. An established track record in corporate branding, communication, outreach, video production and editing preferably for a Microfinance Apex institution or MFI; iii. A minimum of 5 years'experiences in corporate branding; iv. Proven knowledge and work experience in marketingan emerging Microfinance apex institution v. Experience in working in a post-conflict environment; vi. Excellent abilities inuse of ICTs for appropriate development of marketing strategy vii. Knowledge of the World Bank communications, outreach and information dissemination processes will be a plus. 7. The Private Sector Development Project of the Ministry of Trade, Industry &Investment now invites eligible Individual Consultants to indicate their interest in providing the above mentioned services.
