The Republic of Sudan National Emergency Transport Rehabilitation Project (NETREP) Ministry of Transport Roads and Bridges   Multi Donor Trust Fund: NS Grant No. TF 057323   Consultancy Services Technical Assistance to the Environmental and Social Management Unit (ESMU) in MTRB                                                  (CON/MTRB/04/2010) Request for Expressions of Interest This invitation for expression of interest follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the dgMarket on October 20, 2006 The Government of National Unity of the Republic of Sudan has received a grant from the Multi Donor Trust Fund, managed by the World Bank, to assist in co-financing the first phase of the National Emergency Transport Rehabilitation Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds of the grant for the above consultancy services. The overall objective of the Technical Assistance (TA) is to assist the MTRB with the smooth and effective strengthening of the Unit so that it can effectively discharge its functions.  More specifically the consultant will: (i)              based on the ESAF, develop a Manual of environmental and social guidelines and procedures to guide the Unit in managing the environmental and social impacts of the road sector; (ii)           undertake technical training and awareness raising and sensitization activities for transport sector personnel, including senior management, to understand the importance of managing the environmental and social impacts and mitigation measures of all construction investments; (iii)        familiarize the staff of the ESMU with the existing Environmental andSocial Assessment Framework (ESAF) for the transport sector so that they can effectively perform their function; The Ministry of Transport, Roads and Bridges (MTRB), now invites eligible individual consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants are hereby requested to provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (C.V, description of similar assignments and experience in similar assignments). An individual consultant (Technical Advisor) will be selected on the basis of his qualifications. Invitation for Bids (IFB)    The Republic of Sudan Ministry of Transport, Roads and Bridges National Emergency Transport Rehabilitation Project (NETREP), P098837 MDTF # NS Grant No. TF057323 Procurement of One Ferry Boat and Spare Parts ICB No. MTRB/FB/01 # 2010 Specific Procurement Notice 1.         This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in dgMarket of 20 October 2006. 2.         The Government of Sudan has received a grant from the Multi Donor Trust Fund (MDTF,) administered  by the World Bank, toward the cost of the National Emergency Transport Rehabilitation Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this grant  to payments under the Contract for Procurement of One Ferry Boat. 3.         The Ministry of Transport, Roads and Bridges now invites sealed bidsfrom eligible and qualified bidders for supply, delivery and commissioning of one ferry boat and consumable spare parts for two years. 4.         Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank's G uidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines. 5.         Bidders are invited to a Bid Clarification Conference which shall beheld by MTRB officials to clarify the right procedures for bidders onMay 20th, 2010 (11:00 am) at Ministry of Transport, Roads and Bridges, Conference room (1st floor) 6.         Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Ministry of Transport, Roads and Bridges; Mr. Modawi Eltiraifi Dafalla, e-mail: [email protected] and inspect the Bidding Documents atthe address given below ) from 9:00a.m. to 3:00 p.m.. 7.         Qualifications requirements include: (i) Previous experience and technical capacity in providing similar goods; (ii) Evidence of financial capacity and (iii) company incorporation and registration certificate. A margin of preference for certain goods manufactured domestically shall not be applied. Additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents.  8.         A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below  and upon payment of a non refundable fee of Two Hundred and Fifty Sudanese Pounds (SDG 250) or US Dollars One Hundred (US$100.00). .  The method of payment will be by cashier's check or direct deposit to account No: 01469193130001 for local currency or 01469213130002 for foreign currency of the Ministry of Transport, Roads and Bridges in Central Bank of Sudan. The Bidding Documents will be delivered directly to the bidder's representative or sent by courier. 9.         Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 12:00 noon June 7th, 2010 Electronic bidding will not be permitted.
