Building Partnerships for Responsible Development in Agricultural Value Chains — VER CRECER Project

La Organización Internacional del Trabajo (OIT), en el marco del proyecto VER CRECER, financiado por la Unión Europea, lanza oficialmente la Convocatoria 2026 de Acuerdos de Implementación, dirigida a organizaciones que trabajan con pequeños productores en las cadenas agrícolas priorizadas: café, cacao, azúcar, aceite de palma y madera en Guatemala.

La convocatoria seleccionará dos propuestas, cada una con un financiamiento de USD 23,000, para la implementación de iniciativas innovadoras en Conducta Empresarial Responsable (CER), debida diligencia social y ambiental, trabajo decente, transición justa, igualdad de género y formalización. El período de ejecución será de seis meses.

Sustainable Procurement practices integrate requirements, specifications, and criteria that are compatible and in favour of the protection of the environment, the social progress and in support of economic development.

These practices seek resource efficiency, improve the quality of products and services, and ultimately optimize costs (HLCM Procurement Network). Sustainable Procurement is one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (goals 12 and 12.7), and it also contributes to the achievement of all SDGs.

This procurement opportunity is considered sustainable as it incorporates at least three sustainability considerations, in accordance with the HLCM Procurement Network's Sustainable Procurement Working Group - Sustainability Indicators Framework.
