The consultancy will support gender-responsive development within the artisanal fishing value chain by addressing barriers to women’s participation and strengthening institutional and community capacity. The assignment comprises several complementary workstreams.

The consultancy will include a rapid gender and value chain assessment to identify intrinsic and extrinsic constraints affecting women’s entry, retention, and advancement in artisanal fisheries. This will involve interviews and consultations with key stakeholders from public institutions, cooperatives, and women and youth actors, with findings used to inform gender-responsive capacity-building interventions.
