REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (CONSULTANT SERVICES) Country: SOUTHERN SUDAN Project Name: WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION PROJECT CONSULTING SERVICES FOR THE FEASIBILITY STUDIES, DETAILED DESIGNS ANDTHE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS OF THE URBAN WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATIONFACILITIES FOR BENTIU, BOR AND TORIT TOWNS Loan No./Credit No./TF No./Grant No. TF 096197 Project ID No. P111061 Expressions of interest The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation (MWRI) in the Government of Southern Sudan (GoSS), has received grant financing from the Multi Donor Trust Fund-SS, administered by the International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of the Water Supply and Sanitation Project (WSSP), and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultant services.

The services include: • Carry out a water resources assessment study to measure the viabilityfor adequate supply of water to each of these towns; • Conduct an economic feasibility study and prepare preliminary technical designs, including the study of alternatives for the implementationof water supply and sanitation facilities in each of these towns; • Prepare detailed engineering designs, including Bills of Quantity andcost estimates, and take into account the associated environmental and social safeguards; • Prepare bidding documents for the construction of the water supply and sanitation facilities in these towns..

The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation (MWRI) now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (current edition). Interested consultants may obtain further information at the address below during office hours 0900 to 1700 hours, Monday to Friday. Expressions of Interest must be delivered to the address below by 5:00pm local time, 20 August 2010.
