GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE

Project ID No: P173287

The Government of The Gambia has received financing in the amount of US$30,000,000 equivalent from the World Bank toward the cost of the Gambia Essential Health Services Strengthening Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project.

The project will include the following components:

Component 1: This component will focus on Improving the quality of essential PHC services delivery using a results-based financing approach; Community engagement to improve utilization of quality health services; and Building resilient and sustainable health systems to support the delivery of quality health services.

Component 2: This component will focus on project management which includes financial management (FM) and procurement, monitoring and evaluation, environmental and social risks management compliance and assessment of implementation progress.

Component 3: This component will focus on Contingent Emergency Response Component (CERC) and enables the rapid reallocation of project proceeds in the event of a natural or man-made disaster or crisis that has caused or is likely to imminently cause a major adverse economic and/or social impact.

The project will procure the following goods, works and consulting services through open international competitive bidding:

Procurement of Works:

  • Renovation of Hospitals and health facilities
  • Construction of National Blood Transfusion Center

Procurement of Goods:

  • Equipment for the renovated hospitals and health facilities
  • Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Software

Procurement of Consulting Services:

  • Architectural consulting services for renovation of designated health facilities
  • International electronic Civil Registration Enterprise Architect consultant

Procurement of contracts financed by the World Bank will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers dated August 2018 all eligible firms and individuals as defined in the Procurement Regulations.[1] After project negotiations, the World Bank shall arrange the publication on its external website of the agreed initial procurement plan and all subsequent updates once it has provided a no objection.

Specific procurement notices for contracts subject to open international competitive procurement will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business online, on the World Bank’s external website and dgMarket

[1] Occasionally contracts may be financed out of tied trust funds that would further restrict eligibility to a particular group of member countries. When this is the case, it should be mentioned in this paragraph.
