Procurement Specialist

• The International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe) has received financing from the World Bank towards the Accelerating Innovation and Catalyzing Capacity for Resilience in Africa (AICCRA-FSRP IV) Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

• The consulting services (“the Services”) include the Procurement Specialist assignment. This Consultant shall work for an initial period of Twenty-four (24) calendar months from contract commencement date, but the period is subject to extension based on AICCRA-FSRP IV Project needs, funds availability, and satisfactory performance. The objective of the assignment is for the Procurement Specialist to provide procurement and contract management services in accordance with World Bank’s Procurement Regulations applicable to the AICCRA-FSRP IV Project. This is intended to ensure adequate procurement and contract management capacity within icipe Project Implementation Unit (PIU) to accelerate the implementation of the AICCRA-FSRP IV Project activities and ensure that procurement activities are executed efficiently within scope, time and quality to achieve value for money.

• The International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology now invites eligible individual consultants (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. (cover/application letter summarizing the relevant experience and indicating its relevance to the assignment, detailed curriculum vitae (CV), copies of documentary evidence of academic qualifications, experience, professional qualifications, and registration/licensing with professional bodies).

• The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to Section III, paragraphs, 3.14, 3.16, and 3.17 of the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” First Published July 2016 and Revised Sixth Edition February 2025 (“Procurement Regulations”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
