REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (CONSULTING SERVICES – INDIVIDUAL SELECTION) Country: Kenya Project: Africa Green, Resilient and Inclusive Housing De-Risking (GRIHD) Facility Project ID: P 178986 Loan No./Credit No./ Grant No.: IDA -7727-3E Assignment Title: Environmental & Social (E&S) Officer Reference No.: KE-TDB-536491-CS-INDV • The Eastern and Southern Africa Trade and Development Bank (TDB) Group has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Africa Green, Resilient and Inclusive Housing De-Risking ( GRIHD) Facility and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services. • The consulting services (“the Services”) include the Environmental & Social ( E&S ) Officer (Individual Consultant) assignment for a period of Five (5) calendar years from contract commencement date.

The objective of the assignment for the Environmental and Social (E&S) Officer is to ensure that all GHVC Fund-financed projects identify, assess, and effectively manage environmental and social risks in compliance with national laws, the Fund’s exclusion list and ESMS, and international standards, including IFC Performance Standards. The E&S Officer will support TDB’s operational departments in the implementation of other projects in accordance with the applicable institutional and policy frameworks. • The detailed Terms of Reference (TOR) for the assignment can be found at the following website: https://www.tdbgroup.org/consulting-procurement/ • TDB now invites eligible individual consultants (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services.

Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services (cover/application letter summarizing the relevant experience and indicating its relevance to the assignment, detailed curriculum vitae (CV), copies of documentary evidence of academic qualifications, experience, professional qualifications, and registration/licensing with professional bodies). The shortlisting criteria are: a). A Minimum master’s degree in environmental sciences, Natural Resource Management, or related field, or alternatively a bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, Natural Resource Management, or related field combined with significant practical relevant experience. b).

Professional registration with valid membership in a relevant professional body. c). A minimum of eight (8) years of combined general experience in environmental and social management work. d). A minimum of five (5) years specific experience in handling environmental and social matters and/or programmes for World Bank and/or other internationally funded projects / programs and preparing associated E&S reports in compliance with applicable standards. e).
