P511206 The National Planning Authority (NPA) has received financing in the amount of US$ 40Million equivalent from the World Bank toward the cost of the Uganda Strengthening Public Investment and Asset Management for Growth and Resilience Operation (PIMPLUS) Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for consulting services to be procured under this project. The project will include the PforR and IPF components. The NPA will implement the IPF component which will mainly procure consultancy services for prefeasibility and feasibility studies for infrastructure projects in the Energy, Water and Transport Sectors.
These will be undertaken under open international competitive bidding. Procurement of contracts financed by the World Bank will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers (July 2016) (Procurement Regulations), and is open to all eligible firms and individuals as defined in the Procurement Regulations.2 After project negotiations, the World Bank shall arrange the publication on its external website of the agreed initial procurement plan and all subsequent updates once it has provided a no objection.
Specific procurement notices for contracts subject to open international competitive procurement will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business online, on the World Bank’s external website, the New Vision and Daily Monitor Newspaper in Uganda.
