Supply and Installation of Solar Systems — COVID-19 Emergency Response Project in Zimbabwe

Tender Invitation -Expression of Interest Submission Country: Zimbabwe Name of Project: COVID-19 Emergency Response Project (ZCERP) Contract Title: Solar for Health -Supply and Installation of Solar System Loan No./Credit No./ Grant No.: Loan No: P125229 Grant No: TF0B3156 RFQ Reference No.: ZW-CORDAID-220340-GO-RFQ The Government of Zimbabwe through the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) received funding from the World Bank for the COVID-19 Emergency Response Project (ZCERP). Cordaid-Zimbabwe is the Project Implementing Entity (PIE).

The project aims to help Zimbabwe immediately respond and mitigate the risks associated with COVID-19 outbreak and strengthen the national health systems for preparedness and response. Part of the funding will be used to support complementary strategic activities to facilitate the implementation of the COVID-19 National Vaccine Deployment Plan, focusing on climate friendly health system strengthening activities that support vaccine deployment and including installation and maintenance of solar energy in health facilities.

To this end twenty-nine (29) health facilities are targeted for installation of solar energy in Masvingo Province, Matabeleland North Province and Midlands Province. Cordaid Zimbabwe the Project Implementing Entity (PIE) now invites interested registered suppliers to submit their expression of interest (EOI) on a letter head indicating the province(s) they are interested prior to the preparation of site visit. Please note that the site visit schedule will be shared with those that submitted their EOI.

The contractor shall follow the World Bank Group Environment, Health and Safety Guidelines and the project Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF) which should become the basis for preparing the site-specific ESM Plan when required.
