REQUEST FOR BIDS FOR PROCUREMENT OF LAPTOPS WITH SOFTWARE LICENSE, MULTIPURPOSE PRINTERS, PROJECTORS AND NETWORK EQUIPMENT FOR 100 CLUSTER CENTERS AND SCIENCE TEACHERS TO BE TRAINED FROM 1,300 GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS

• The Government of Uganda through the Ministry of Education and Sports has received financing from the World Bank towards the cost of the Uganda Secondary Education Expansion Project (USEEP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Procurement of classroom laptops, software licence, speakers, projectors and dragon professional for schools in the Refugee Host Districts under the Uganda Secondary Education Expansion Project (USEEP). “For this contract, the Borrower shall process the payments using the Direct Payment disbursement method, as defined in the World Bank’s Disbursement Guidelines for Investment Project Financing, except for those payments, which the contract provides to be made through letter of credit.”]

• The Ministry of Education and Sports now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for supply and delivery of Laptops, Projectors, Multipurpose Printers and Network Equipment to be used in training of science teachers under the Uganda Secondary Education Expansion Project (USEEP) lotted as follows;

• LOT 1 (Eastern Region): 863 Laptops, 415 Projectors, 28 Multipurpose Printers and 28 Network Equipment

• LOT 2(Western Region): 805 Laptops, 421 Projectors, 24 Multipurpose Printers and 24 Network Equipment

• LOT 3 (Central Region): 881 Laptops, 337 Projectors, 34 Multipurpose Printers and 34 Network Equipment

• LOT 4 (Northern Region): 451 Laptops, 227 Projectors, 14 Multipurpose Printers and 14 Network Equipment

• Bidding will be conducted through Open International competitive procurement using a Request for Bids (RFB) as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” dated July 2016, revised November 2017 and August 2018 (“Procurement Regulations”) and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations.

• Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from the Head Procurement and Disposal Unit, Ministry of Education and Sports and inspect the bidding document during office hours 9:00am to 4:30pm at the address given below at (9).

• The bidding document in English may be purchased by interested Bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of Uganda Shillings One Hundred Thousand Only (UGX100,000). The method of payment will be through obtaining a Bank Payment Advise Form from the cashier on 5th Floor, Embassy House and pay at the designated Bank. On presentation of proof of payment, bidding documents may then be collected from the address at (9) or sent by email as may be preferred by the bidder

• Bids must be delivered to the address at (9) on or before 2:30pm on 31st July, 2024. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below at (9) on 31st July, 2024 at 2:40pm local time.
