| Name of Consulting Assignment: | Mobile Application (App) Development for the Post Harvest & Value Addition Section (PHVA) of the Seychelles Fishing Authority (SFA)The Seychelles Fishing Authority has led numerous campaigns aimed at sensitizing the population of Seychelles on the various uses of fish and its nutritional benefits. However, the tendency of the population to consume fish has been on the decline. This trend stems mostly from lifestyle and demographic changes, as the markets are increasingly dominated by alternative protein sources. Increases in the price of fish and a lack of knowledge on how to properly prepare and cook fish of different varieties may also constitute important factors. In addition, most consumers are unaware that there are many alternatives to the higher-value species of fish that they are used to consuming.SFA has recognized the need for a digital platform to enable more efficient sharing of post-harvest information with the general public and stakeholders. This platform will also address concerns of transparency and information dissemination that are requisite for systematic improvements in service delivery by SFA. The platform will empower value chain operators and consumers to participate meaningfully in planning further research and development activities of the Post-Harvest and Value Addition (PHVA) section of SFA.The objectives of the assignment are to: Develop a mobile application (app), including a backend database platform, which will allow for information sharing between the PHVA, value chain operators, and consumers. This app will be designed to provide information on product development and recipes, communication and awareness programs, related research, stock status information, statistical information, nutritional updates and promotional activities. The app will also provide functionality to integrate with labelling and traceability schemes aimed at promoting sustainable fishing in Seychelles.SFA is seeking a consultancy company with the following profile:• At least 5 years proven experience in mobile App development (Android and iOS), implementation and promotion.• Previous company experience in mobile App development especially with regarding to the food industry would be highly advantageous;• The Company will comprise key experts holding the following qualifications and experience:•• Key expert 1: A first degree in computer science with specialisation in software engineering especially in mobile App development with at least 5 years working experience.• Key expert 2: A first degree in e-Marketing/ Business development (or similar field) with at least 5 years of proven experience in product promotion and use of mobile App in similar settings.• Key expert 3: A first degree in law (or similar field) with working experience in intellectual property, patent and copyright in the context of App development.• Key expert 4: A qualified personnel in media production, content creation and editing with 3 years proven work experience.• Key expert 5: Preferably a Seychellois with extensive knowledge in spoken and written Creole, with at least 3 years’ experience dealing with App developmentApplication ProcessThe Seychelles Fishing Authority is now inviting consultancy firms to indicate their interest in this assignment. Expressions of Interest (EOI) shall consist of a cover letter, firm profile and curriculum vitae of key team experts.
