Assignment Title: Recruitment of a Consultant for The Position of a Project Civil Engineer

The Government of the Gambia through the Ministry of Agriculture has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Gambia Inclusive and Resilient Agriculture Value Chain Development Project (GIRAV) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

The consulting services include the timely production of final designs of all infrastructure related and has to work closely with the rural Engineer at CPCU and the water engineer from the GERMP Project, a host of consultants, contractors, farmers and technicians involved in designing, construction and maintenance of Agrologist Centers, roads and related structures at the project sites. He/she shall work in close coordination with the project team and implementing partners to guide the implementation of the project. to the CPCU during the implementation of GIRAV Project . The Central Project Coordination Unit – Ministry of Agriculture now invites eligible Individual Consultant to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultant should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services.

Qualification and Experience

• Civil engineer degree or a master’s degree in civil engineering or related field.

• At least 7 years of work experience in civil construction development projects as designer, supervisor and/or consultant.

• Preference will be given to those with experience in civil works and project supervision

• Experience on donor funded projects will be an added advantage

•

• Have good interpersonal and communication and decision-making skills.

• Strong analytical skill and ability to identify key strategic issues, opportunities, and risks

• Proficiency in Auto-CAD, Microsoft Office with good presentation and report writing skills.

• Have knowledge and skills to review and assess technical design documentation for construction and maintenance interventions

• Young civil engineers (under 40 years) are encouraged to apply.

The attention of interested Consultant is drawn to Section III, paragraphs, 3.14, 3.16, and 3.17 of the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” September 2023) (“Procurement Regulations”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.

A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Individual Selection (IS) method set out in the Procurement Regulations.
