• The Government has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Botswana Emergency Water Security and Efficiency projects, and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contracts[1] for the Supply and delivery of Rainfall, Weather Stations, River Level, Borehole Level and Water Quality Monitoring Equipment and Associated Telemetry System for Water Resources Management in Botswana.

• The Department of Water and Sanitation now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the supply and delivery of the following lots:

Lot 1: Supply and delivery of rainfall equipment.

Lot 2: Supply and delivery of weather stations equipment.

Lot 3: Supply and delivery of water quality monitoring equipment.

Lot 4: Supply and delivery of river level monitoring equipment

Lot 5: Supply and delivery of borehole level monitoring equipment.

Lot 6: Installation and commissioning of associated telemetry system for water

resources data management.

The items will be delivered to the Department of Water and Sanitation, Gaborone, Botswana.

The delivery period is 30 to 60 days after the signing of the contract.

• Bidders may Bid for one or several lots, as further defined in the request for bids document. Bidders wishing to offer discounts in case they are awarded more than one contract will be allowed to do so, provided those discounts are included in the Letter of Bid.

• Bidding will be conducted through international competitive procurement using a Request for Bids (RFB) as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” [Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers September 2023, fifth edition] (“Procurement Regulations”) and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations.

• The[2] bidding document in English may be purchased by interested Bidders upon payment of a nonrefundable fee[3] of BWP 1000.00. The method of payment will be direct deposit in favor of Government of Botswana. The document will be collected at the Department of Water and Sanitation upon payment of the non-refundable fee.

• Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 14/06/2024. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below on 14/06/2024 at 10:00 hrs

• All Bids must be accompanied by a “Bid-Securing Declaration,” as appropriate

• Attention is drawn to the Procurement Regulations requiring the Borrower to disclose information on the successful bidder’s beneficial ownership, as part of the Contract Award Notice, using the Beneficial Ownership Disclosure Form as included in the bidding document.
