INVITATION FOR BIDS (IFB)

NATIONAL COMPETITIVE BIDDING (NCB)

• The Government of Botswana has received financing from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) towards the cost of implementation of the Integrated Transport Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan for payments under for the Supplies Contract for the Procurement of LAN Cabling, Unified Communications access equipment and associated services for Ministry of Transport and Communications

• The Ministry of Transport and Communications now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Supplies Contract for the Procurement of LAN Cabling, Unified Communications access equipment and associated services for Ministry of Transport and Communications

• Tenderers in order to be considered for the award of the contract shall have;

•

• Cisco Partnership under the category of premium to Gold

• Cisco advance / professional services are required under the contract

• Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement of Goods, under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants, January 2011, Revised in July 2014,

• Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at “The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport and Communications, Plot 54690, Westgate Mall (Along KT Motsete Drive or Western Bypass) Gaborone, Botswana “The Project Manager ATTN: M.S.S Baele, E-mail: [email protected] or [email protected] Fax: +267 3971117 Tel: 00 267 3612000” from 0730hrs to 1600hrs.

• A complete set of bidding documents in English Language may be purchased by interested bidder’s payment of a non-refundable fee of Botswana Pula (BWP) 500.00.

• The method of payment will be by cash or Bank demand draft in favor of Botswana Government, Bank of Botswana, Branch Code: 91-01-67, Swift code: B BOT BW GX, Account: 01010 00016 620000 (The bidder shall then fax the deposit slip to the Ministry of Transport at fax number +267 3971117 for the attention of Ms. Beauty Mogopodi so that the documents are sent immediately

• The Bidding documents can be collected from Ministry of Transport and Communications Headquarters, IT office starting from September 16, 2019 during working hours [i.e. 0800hrs to 1230hrs and 1400hrs to 1530hrs local time. (GMT+2:00)]

• Bidding documents requested by mail will be dispatched by registered speed post or courier on payment of an extra amount of BWP 1500, 00 or equivalent for overseas shipping. The Botswana Government will not be held responsible for the postal / courier delay, if any, in the delivery of the documents or non-receipt of the same. Other details can be seen in the bidding documents.

• A pre-bid meeting and compulsory site visit with representative of the Ministry of Transport and Communications will be held on the October 03, 2019 from 0830hrs to 1200hrs at Ministry Headquarters First Floor Conference Room comprising the following:

•

• Unified Communications access equipment Networking and other related service

• Site visit of the Project including the location of the affected areas.

• Clarification issues and to answer questions on the matters that may be raised at that stage.

• Bidders are encouraged to provide written/email notification to the Employer at the addresses indicated above, at least 07 days in advance of their intention to attend the pre bid conference. The Bidder is responsible for providing his own transport at all times during such pre bid conference. The Employer takes no responsibility for providing any transportation or other needs to the Bidder during the pre-bid conference and site visits. Costs associated to the pre bid conference and site visits are borne by the Bidder.

• Bids must be delivered to the address below by 0800hrs on the October 18, 2019. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives and anyone who choose to attend at the address below at 0800hrs on the October 18, 2019.

• Bids must be delivered in one (1) original and two (2) copies, in sealed envelopes and should be delivered at the address below and addressed to “The Secretary, Ministerial Tender Committee, Private Bag 00414, Plot 54690, Westgate Mall (Along KT Motsete Drive or Western Bypass, Gaborone, Botswana” by 0800 hours local time. (GMT+2:00) on October 18, 2019. Late bids will be rejected. The submissions shall be opened immediately thereafter in the Ground Floor Conference Room of the offices of the Ministry of Transport and Communications in the presence of Bidders or their authorised representatives, who may wish to be present.
