BOTSWANA POWER CORPORATION REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (CONSULTANT SERVICES) BOTSWANA MORUPULE B GENERATION & TRANSMISSION PROJECT ENERGY SECTOR CONSULTING SERVICES Loan No.78010 Project ID No.: P112516 Tender No.: 6889/10 Expressions of interest: Transmission System Harmonics Study Tender No. 6889/10 The Government of Botswana has received financing from the World Banktoward the cost of the Morupule B Generation and Transmission Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultant services.

The services include carrying out a system harmonics study to identify, monitor and measure harmonics generated by any non-linear harmonic producing equipment on the transmission system as well as to determine if the harmonic levels exceed internationally recommended limits. The study will also determine harmonic mitigation techniques to reduce the harmonics to withininternationally recommended limits. The studies have to be completed within 8 months.

Botswana Power Corporation now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experiencein similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (May 2004, revised October 2006).
