• The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Africa Centres for Disease Control Support Program to Combat Current and Future Public Health Threats Project (P178633), and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract Provision of Annual Calibration, Certification, and Maintenance of Biological Safety Cabinets (BSCs), Negative Pressure Systems, and Other Laboratory Equipment at the Africa CDC Reference Laboratory.

• The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the provision of annual preventive maintenance, calibration, certification, and servicing of twenty-one (21) Biological Safety Cabinets (Class II and III), BSL-2+ and BSL-3 laboratory negative pressure systems, sixteen (16) chemical safety cabinets, and approximately two hundred ninety-three (293) other critical laboratory equipment located at the Africa CDC Reference Laboratory in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, over a twelve (12) month period.

• Bidding will be conducted through competitive procurement using a Request for Bids (RFB) as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers February 2025 (“Procurement Regulations”) and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations.

• Interested and eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) and request the bidding documents via the official email address: [email protected].

• The bidding document in English Language may be obtained by interested eligible Bidders upon the submission of written request to the email address: [email protected], The bidding document shall be provided free of charge. The document will be sent by email.

• Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before Wednesday July 22, 2026, Electronic Bidding shall not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below on Wednesday July 22, 2026, at 15:30 hours (Addis Ababa Time).

• All Bids must be accompanied by Bid-Securing Declaration, in the form provided in the bidding documents.

• Attention is drawn to the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations requiring the Africa CDC to disclose information on the successful Bidder’s beneficial ownership, as part of the Contract Award Notice, using the Beneficial Ownership Disclosure Form included in the bidding document.
