  • The Government of the Republic of Malawi has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the REGIONAL CLIMATE RESILIENCE PROGRAM FOR EASTERN AND SOUTHERN AFRICA 2 (RCRP2-MW) and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Construction of Selected Bridges and Approach Road Sections on Chingo – Makanjira (S 129) Road in Mangochi District - Lot 3.
  • The Roads Authority now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for Construction of Selected Bridges and Approach Road Sections on Chingo – Makanjira (S-129) Road in Mangochi District - Lot 3. The construction period is 24 months including the mobilisation period and margin of preference is not applicable.
  • The project involves the construction of Nine (9) number bridges namely: Lusalumwe Bridge (Km 6+000), Nkuli Bridge (Km 17+100), Kalanje Bridge (Km 24+000), Lungwena Bridge (Km 24+800), Mbwazi Bridge (Km 37+000), Lutende Bridge (Km 42+000, Lilembwe Bridge (Km 48+000), Unga Bridge (Km 57+000), Lugola Bridge (Km 63+000). The works will also involve the reconstruction/rehabilitation/construction of bridge (road) approaches on either side of the bridges.

Bidding will be conducted through international competitive procurement using Request for Bids (RFB) as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers- Procurement in Investment Projects Financing Goods, Works, Non-Consulting and Consulting Services, Sixth Edition, issued February 2025 (“Procurement Regulations”), and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations.5. Bids will be evaluated in accordance with the evaluation process set out in the bidding documents. The following weightings shall apply for Rated Criteria (including technical and non-price factors): 20% and for the Bid cost 80 %.6.
