Request for Bids (One-Envelope Bidding Process) (For National Market Approach) Country: United Republic of Tanzania, Zanzibar Employer: Zanzibar Electricity Corporation (ZECO Contract Title: Construction of fencing wall and carrying out Geotechnical and Topographical Survey for Solar and BESS Farm Plant Located at Makunduchi Area in Unguja • The Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar (RGoZ), via the United Republic of Tanzania (the “Borrower”) has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Zanzibar Energy Sector Transformation and Access Project (ZESTA) and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Construction of fencing wall and carrying out Geotechnical and Topographical Survey for Solar and BESS Farm Plant Located at Makunduchi Area in Unguja. • Zanzibar Electricity Corporation (ZECO), the Implementing Agency, now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for Site Preparatory Works for Zanzibar Solar PV Generation Plant and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), which includes, but is not limited to the following main activities: • Site topographic surveys • Site geotechnical surveys • Site clearance • Site fencing • Site access road preparation • Protection of water pipeline from freshwater bore well, including support bridge. The above activities are to be completed in a period: six (6) months. • Bidding will be conducted through national competitive procurement using a Request for Bids (RFB) (For National Market Approach) as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” September 2023 (“Procurement Regulations”), and is open to all Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations. • Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from ZECO, the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) though e-mail: zesta.procs@zeco.co.tz Attention: Olais Lucas Laizer, Procurement Specialist and inspect the bidding document during 08:00 hours to 16:00 hours (East Africa Time) from Monday to Friday, except on public holidays, at the address given below (ref.: para. 8). • The bidding document in English may be purchased by interested eligible Bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of USD 100 or Tanzanian Shillings 250,000. • The method of payment will be made through transferring the money on the following accounts: • For Tanzanian Shillings: Name of account is: Zanzibar Electricity Corporation; Bank Name: People Bank of Zanzibar; Mlandege Corporate Branch.
