- This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in the United Nations Development Business (UNDB) online Notice No. WB-P811333-08/21 on 26th August 2021.
2.The Government of Tanzania has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Boosting Inclusive Growth for Zanzibar: Integrated Development Project (BIG-Z) coordinated by the Ministry of Finance and Planning through a Project Management Team (PMT) under the Boosting Inclusive Growth for Zanzibar (BIG-Z) and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Construction of Solid Waste Transfer Stations at Fuoni Chunga Zanzibar
3.The Ministry of Ministry finance and Planning now invite sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for Construction of Solid Waste Transfer Stations at Fuoni Chunga in Zanzibar, the works to be completed within 8 months including 1 month mobilization.

Bidding will be conducted through National Competitive Procurement using a Request for Bids (RFB) as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” Sixth Edition, September 2025 (“Procurement Regulations”), and is open to all Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations.5. Bidders should note that to qualify for award of the contract they are required to meet certain minimum qualifying criteria as provided in Section III (Evaluation and Qualification Criteria) of the Bidding Document, which includes but not limited to:(i) experience as prime contractor in construction of at least Two works similar nature and complexity, for-example Buildings/Civil works in the last Five (5) years each of minimum value of TZS 6 billion or one project of a minimum value of TZS 12 billion, (ii) Average Annual Turnover calculated as total certified payments received for contracts in progress or completed, within the last five (5) years of TZS 10 billion, (iii) minimum amount of liquid assets and/or credit facilities net of other contractual commitments of TZS 3 billion.Bidders should also note that the work must be completed within 8 months inclusive of 1 month mobilization period.6. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from the Ministry of Finance and Planning through Principal Secretary, Ministry Finance and Planning, P. O. Box 1154, First Floor, Sea View-Wing, Vuga Street, Zanzibar – Tanzania and inspect the Bidding document during office hours 07:30 to 15:30 local hours from Monday to Friday inclusive, except on public holidays at the address given below.7. The bidding document in English may be purchased by interested Bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of USD 150.00 (United State Dolar One Hundred Fifty Only) or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the Ministry of Finance and Planning Conference room, Zanzibar, immediately thereafter the deadline for bid submission.10.
