Vacancy Announcement The Sidama Region Bureau of Agriculture invites qualified applicants for the Second Resilient Landscapes and Livelihoods Project (RLLP-II) at the regional level for the following vacant position. Position Title: Procurement and Contract Management Specialist 1. Required Qualification • Minimum Educational Qualification: A minimum of a first degree in purchasing management, logistics management, economics, engineering, law, public procurement, asset management & supplies management, or other relevant fields from recognized universities. • Work Experience: • Six years of practical experience in public procurement Management, of which 3 years are continuous experience in procurement management at donor-funded projects, and 2 years’ experience on the World Bank-financed projects; • Knowledge of procurement policies and procedures of the Ethiopian Federal Public Procurement is a requirement. • Proficiency in Systematic Tracking of Exchanges in Procurement (STEP) is an advantage. • Experience in training, capacity building, and setting up procurement systems in a new organization will be a distinct advantage. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills and proficiency in the English language (both written & spoken) are essential. • Reporting Line/Communication • The procurement and contract management specialist will report to the regional project coordinator at the Sidama Regional Project Coordination Unit (RPCU) and work closely with the NPCU senior procurement and contract management specialist, regional project implementing bureaus, Woreda procuring entities, and development partners, mainly with the World Bank’s procurement staff. • Required Number: 1 (One) • Terms of Employment: One-year contract with the possibility of extension. • Salary: As per the scale of projects of the Ministry of Agriculture • Duty Station: Hawassa with frequent field visits to project sites and woredas. • Note: • Applicants are required to have excellent communication and command of English and Amharic in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing. • Eligible or qualified applicants are required to submit their documents (non-returnable copies of their CVs and student copies with originals of their degrees and testimonials for cross-checking) to Human Resource Administration within 14 (fourteen) working days of the issuance of this vacancy announcement in the Ethiopian Herald and/or Addis Zemen Newspaper.
