The Government of The Gambia has received financing from the World Bank towards the cost of the Second Additional Financing for Integrated Financial Management Information Systems Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for consulting services of a Local Consultant For Data Analysis And Report Writing: To produce eight (8) Local Government Area (LGA) Profile reports based on IHS 2015/16 Data.
The overall objective of the assignment is to deliver the required 8 LGA Profile reports on time that provides clear and detail district indicators within each LGA, and strengthening the analytical and report writing capacities of involved GBoS Staff.
The consulting services shall be provided for a period of two (2) months (includes data analysis, production of analytical tables and graphs; reports writing, formatting, proofreading and editing; presentation of draft reports for validation; and finalising reports for publication).
The Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills, etc.). The short listing criteria are:
- At least a Master’s degree in a discipline relevant to statistical data analysis and report writing;
- At least Five (5) years' experience with records relevant to household surveys’ data review, data analysis, user-friendly data presentation and report writing;
- Experience in report formatting, editing and proofreading is required;
- Fluent English language communication and writing skills are required.
- Experience in household surveys in developing countries such as in Africa is a definite asset;
Other Competencies include:-
- Ability to write and present a good report in a creative and innovative manner that is user-friendly;
- Solid analytical and verbal/written communication skills;
- Initiative, sound judgment and excellent interpersonal skills;
- Proven ability to adapt quickly to change and work under pressure;
- Ability to work in and with multidisciplinary teams from diverse cultures, expertise and experiences.
The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants [under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants] by World Bank Borrowers July 2014 edition. (“Consultant Guidelines”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest
A Consultant will be selected in accordance with Individual Consultant Selection method (IC) method set out in the Consultant Guidelines; World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers July 2014.
