  • The Federal Government of Somalia has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Somalia Crisis Recovery Project (SCRP), and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Rehabilitation of Wareegi Doodije (1.45 Km),Suubiye (1.365 Km) and Horseed (1.460 Km) Roads, in Jowhar District, Hirshaballe State. For this contract, the Borrower shall process the payments using the Direct Payment disbursement method, as defined in the World Bank’s Disbursement Guidelines for Investment Project Financing.
  • The Ministry of Finance, Federal Government of Somalia now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for rehabilitation of 3.8 Km Road of 6m wide carriageway, 1m shoulder and side drains in Hudur town. The scope of the works include;
  • Construction of diversions and allowing for passage of traffic
  • Earthworks (approx. 33,000 m3)
  • Construction of Doweled Plain Concrete (4.375km)
  • Construction in cubic meters Subgrade (40,000), subbase (42,000) and base course (60,000).
  • Asphalt surfacing Prime Coat and Bituminous Binder each 36,500 square meters.
  • Concrete works: for protection, sidewalks and pipe culvert (12m).
  • Concrete works: 20,060 sqm.
  • Road furniture.
  • Manholes and Inlets 110 RM
  • Circular Manhole 1 no.
  • Catch basin 2no.
  • 100mm PVC Duct 330 RM
  • 150mm PVC Duct 450 RM
  • Supplying and erecting of precast concrete curbstones for sidewalks = 9,000 M
  • Ditto but curbstones for the islands (23 X 23 X 100) = 100M
  • Curbstones for edge beam and v shape = 1200M
  • Painting alternatively black and white or/as specified on up stand curbs. = 9,100M
  • Painting for road marking (white and yellow) acrylic reflective paint = 11,000M
  • Supplying and fixing cat eyes of best = 200 no.
  • Traffic Signs = 85 no.
  • Steel Guard Rails, Handrails and Concrete Safety Barriers = 400 LM

The construction period will be Eight (8) months and a Defects Liability Period of Six (6) months.

  • Bidding will be conducted through national competitive procurement using a Request for Bids (RFB) as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” dated July 1st 2016 revised November 2017,August 2018, November 2020 and September 2023 (“Procurement Regulations”), and is open to all Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations.

and inspect the bidding document during office hours 09:00 AM to 4:00 PM (Local Time) from Saturday to Thursday at the address given below.

  • The bidding document in English may be obtained free of charge by the interested eligible bidder upon submission of a request through the address provided in point number 10 below. The Bidding document consists of:
  • Volume I: The Request for Bid (RFB) including the Bill of Quantity attached as Annex-A
  • Volume II: Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP)
  • Volume III: Drawings/ Design
  • A virtual pre-bid meeting shall not be conducted by the Employer.
  • Bids shall be submitted electronically. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be virtually opened via Google Meet and invites sent to the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend on 16th July 2024 at 11:30AM EAT.
  • All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid-Securing Declaration using the form included in Section IV, Bidding Forms.
  • Your attention is drawn to the Procurement Regulations requiring the Borrower to disclose information on the successful bidder’s beneficial ownership, as part of the Contract Award Notice, using the Beneficial Ownership Disclosure Form as included in the bidding document.
