- The Republic of The Gambia has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Gambia Electricity Restoration and Modernization Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contracts for Supply of Smart Prepayment Meters with AMI software; Smart-Enabled Prepayment Meters; 3-phase Maximum Demand Smart Meters; Meter Test Bench. For this contract, the Borrower shall process the payments using the Direct Payment disbursement method, as defined in the World Bank’s Disbursement Guidelines for Investment Project Financing, except for those payments, which the contract provides to be made through letter of credit.
- The National Water and Electricity Company Limited (NAWEC) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for:
Lot 1: 1,000 Single-phase Smart STS Prepayment Meters with AMI software
Lot 2: 29,000 Single-phase Smart enabled STS Prepayment Meters
Lot 3: (a)500 Three-phase STS Maximum Demand Smart Meters with CTs
(b)500 Three-phase Maximum Demand Smart Meters for LV Substation
Metering with CTs
Lot 4: 1 Meter Test Bench
- Bidders may Bid for one or several contracts, as further defined in the request for bids document. Bidders wishing to offer discounts in case they are awarded more than one contract will be allowed to do so, provided those discounts are included in the Letter of Bid.
- Bidding will be conducted through international competitive procurement using a Request for Bids (RFB) as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” (July 1st, 2016, revised in November 2017 and August 2018) (“Procurement Regulations”), and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations.

- The bidding document in English may be purchased by interested Bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of US$300. The method of payment will be electronic transfer. The document will be sent by courier mail.
- Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 12:00 March 28th 2019. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below on March 28th 2019, at 12:30.
- All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of:
