The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has applied financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Dodoma Integrated and Sustainable Transport Project (DIST) and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Upgrading of Chamwino - Dodoma Section (32km) to Six (6) and Four (4) Lanes Dual Carriageway Under Design and Build Contract, Tender No. AE/001/2024-25/HQ/W/47 (TZ-TANROADS-455060-CW-RFP).

Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) intends to initially select Applicants for Upgrading of Chamwino - Dodoma Section (32km) to Six (6) and Four (4) Lanes Dual Carriageway Under Design and Build Contract. The Works consist of upgrading of the road to six (6) and four (4) lanes dual carriageway bitumen standard (60mm Asphalt Concrete wearing course (SP 12.5)) while the existing single carriageway road is being reserved for future Public Transport Rapid Transport solutions which could include BRT.

It is expected that the Request for Proposals will be made in February, 2025. The contract implementation is expected to be in 36 months and Defects Notification Period of 18 months will apply. Initial Selection will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank's the Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers, Procurement in Investment Project Financing, Goods, Works, Non-Consulting and Consulting Services July 2016 revised November, 2017 and August, 2018, Fifth Edition, September 2023 ("Procurement Regulations"), and is open to all eligible Applicants as defined in the Procurement Regulations.

Interested eligible Applicants may obtain further information from the Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) at the address below during office hours between 08:00 a.m. and 04:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday inclusive, except on public holidays. A complete set of Initial Selection documents in English may be purchased by interested Applicants on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of TZS 200,000 (Tanzania Shillings Two Hundred Thousand Only) or its equivalent in freely convertible currency.

The method of payment will be through the Control Number to be provided by TANROADS. Please request a control number through mail address: theodora.mpesha@tanroads.go.tz copied to pmu@tanroads.go.tz after getting the control number, follow procedures outlines in this link https://epay.gepg.go.tz/ to make payment and follow up your receipt via emails provided or telegraphic transfer to the TANROADS bank account.
