  • Running of suites of geophysical logs in the borehole, and
  • Obtaining water samples at certain depths of the borehole for analysis and other formation fluids that can be utilised towards establishing the baseline environmental conditions. Given that these elements of work will be conducted at various times while drilling the borehole, the contractor will be responsible for providing all of the additional services required as indicated above as a part of the contract and the contractor will be entitled to bill CGS at the rates specified in the Bill of Quantities for these services. 3. Bidding will be conducted through international competitive procurement using a Request for Bids (RFB) as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers – November 2020” (“Procurement Regulations”), and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations. 4. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from the Council for Geoscience, Ms Xolisa Gugushe, xgugushe@geoscience.org.za. 5. The Council for Geoscience will be holding a non-compulsory virtual pre-bid conference on 14 July 2023 at 14h00 South African time. The Zoom link is available from the Council for Geoscience website: www.geoscience.org.za 6. Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 28 July 2023 at 11h:00. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below on 28 July 2023 at 12h00 South African time. 7. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid-Securing Declaration. 8. Attention is drawn to the Procurement Regulations requiring the Borrower to disclose information on the successful bidder’s beneficial ownership, as part of the Contract Award Notice, using the Beneficial Ownership Disclosure Form as included in the bidding document. 9.
