HEALTH, HIV/AIDS & TB PROJECT

REQUEST

FOR CURRICULUM VITAE FOR INDIVIDUAL CONSULTANTS

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The Government of Swaziland (GOS) has emphasized health as a

priority on the national agenda. A new Health, HIV/AIDS and TB project is

proposed to support the Government in its commitment to improve the health

status of the Swazi population. The

World Bank and the European Union (EU) are jointly financing the project with

the Government. Specifically, the

proposed project will: (i) improve access to, and quality of health services in

Swaziland, with a particular focus on primary health care, maternal health and

TB, and (ii) increase social safety net access for OVC.

The MOH invites interested, qualified candidates to indicate their interest in providing technical

support and services under these consultancies. Selection shall be onthe basis

of examination and comparison of the qualifications of the individual

candidates as evidenced by their CVs. The selected individual shall be

requested to submit a costed offer to undertake the work.

  • CONSULTANT TO DEVELOP A TRAINING MANUAL/PROGRAM ON HEALTH CARE WASTE MANAGEMENT IN THE HEALTH SECTOR.

OBJECTIVE

The main objective of the consultancy is to review and analyze the

existing national health care waste management guidelines and International

guidance and directives on Health Care Waste Management, and other relevant

references in view of formulating a National Health Care Waste Management

Training Program.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

AND EXPERIENCE:

MOH of Swaziland will require a

consultant with the following qualifications:

• Advanced

academic degree in Public Health, and demonstrate an undoubted expertise in

Infection Prevention and Control, with training focus in Health Care Waste

Management. Appropriate and extensive experience in the development of quality

training program, training materials, teaching aids and experience in

conducting training of trainers. A post graduate qualification in

curriculum/training program design would be an added advantage.

• An Individual Expert with

regional and international expertise in the

development of Training Manuals/Programs (not less than 5 years) with

substantial prior experience in the development and of health care waste

management Training Program.

• Relevant experience in health

care waste management and Infection prevention and control program design and

implementation and expertise in

Curriculum development in Sub-Saharan Africa or other developing countries

shall be an added advantage.

• Proven

record of at least five years experience in the relevant health-care waste

management projects, preferably in developing countries.

• Good understanding of

regional and international environmental and health & safety related

legislations and the World Health

Organisation principles/guidelines on health care waste management asan added

advantage.
