Specific Procurement Notice

  • This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in dgMarket of 20 October 2006.
  • The Government of Sudan has received a grant from the Multi Donor Trust Fund (MDTF,) administered  by the World Bank, toward the cost of the National Emergency Transport Rehabilitation Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this grant  to payments under the Contract for Procurement of One Ferry Boat.
  • The Ministry of Transport, Roads and Bridges now invites sealed bidsfrom eligible and qualified bidders for supply, delivery and commissioning of one ferry boat and consumable spare parts for two years.
  • Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank's G

uidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.

  • Bidders are invited to a Bid Clarification Conference which shall beheld by MTRB officials to clarify the right procedures for bidders onMay 20th, 2010 (11:00 am) at Ministry of Transport, Roads and Bridges, Conference room (1st floor)
  • Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Ministry of Transport, Roads and Bridges; Mr. Modawi Eltiraifi Dafalla, e-mail: [email protected] and inspect the Bidding Documents atthe address given below ) from 9:00a.m. to 3:00 p.m..
  • Qualifications requirements include: (i) Previous experience and technical capacity in providing similar goods; (ii) Evidence of financial capacity and (iii) company incorporation and registration certificate. A margin of preference for certain goods manufactured domestically shall not be applied. Additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents.
  • A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below  and upon payment of a non refundable fee of Two Hundred and Fifty Sudanese Pounds (SDG 250) or US Dollars One Hundred (US$100.00). .  The method of payment will be by cashier's check or direct deposit to account No: 01469193130001 for local currency or 01469213130002 for foreign currency of the Ministry of Transport, Roads and Bridges in Central Bank of Sudan. The Bidding Documents will be delivered directly to the bidder's representative or sent by courier.
  • Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 12:00 noon June 7th, 2010 Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected.  Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below at 12:15 p.m. June7th, 2010.  All bids must be accompanied by a "Bid Security" of Twenty Thousand Sudanese Pounds (SDG 20,000) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.
