• The Republic of The Gambia has received financing from the World Bank and European Investment Bank toward the cost of the Gambia Electricity Restoration and Modernization Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Design and Build of Transmission Infrastructures between Brikama and Kotu (The Gambia)

• The National Water and Electricity Company Limited (NAWEC) intends to initially select not more than 6 (six) Applicants for the Contract for Transmission infrastructures including, but not limited to, 30 km of 225 kV transmission lines, 225 / 33 kV primary substations (including refurbishment/upgrades of nine (9) existing secondary MV substations), and control system (including SCADA system and dispatching center) in the Great Banjul Area. Main initial selection criteria are the following

-Access to liquid assets to meet cash flow requirements of US$6 million

-Minimum average construction turnover for the last 5 years of US$24 million

-Minimum 10-years’ general experience

-A minimum number of 5 similar contracts during the last 10 years for each of the following:

-HV line of 225 KV or higher voltage

-HV Substations

-SCADA

It is expected that the Request for Proposals will be made in December 31st 2018.

• Initial Selection will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers (July 1st, 2016, revised in November 2017 and August 2018) (“Procurement Regulations”), and is open to all eligible Applicants as defined in the Procurement Regulations.

• Interested eligible Applicants may obtain further information from the National Water and Electricity Company Limited (NAWEC) ] at the address below during office hours 9:00 am – 16:00 am. A complete set of Initial Selection documents in English may be purchased by interested Applicants on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of US$300. The method of payment will be electronic bank transfer to NAWEC bank account. The document will be sent by courier mail.

• Applications for Initial Selection should be submitted in clearly marked envelopes and delivered to the address below by 12:00 pm on December 24, 2019. Late applications may be rejected.

• National Water and Electricity Company Limited hereby extend the Applications Submission deadline from December 24th 2018 to January 15th 2019 at 12:00 pm.
