Grant Number: IDA-D9190 Project ID NO: P173073 Assignment Title: Recruitment of a Consultant for The Position of a Environmental Specialist Procurement Method: Individual Consultant Reference No: GM-CPCU-441018-CS-INDV (as per Procurement Plan): The Government of the Gambia through the Ministry of Agriculture has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Gambia Inclusive and Resilient Agriculture Value Chain Development Project (GIRAV) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services. The consulting services include The technical advice on all environmental matters and its related issues to the CPCU during the implementation of GIRAV Project. The Specialist will specifically be responsible for the management, implementation, quality control, M&E, and reporting of all activities under subcomponent 1.5 (Securing Access to Land) The detailed Terms of Reference (TOR) for the assignment can be collected from the address beloved. Interested Consultant should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The Environmental Specialist must have a master’s degree in environmental sciences, Natural Resources Management, Forestry, master’s degree in environmental engineering, or related discipline from a reputable Institution. He/ She must possess a master’s degree in the above field(s). Postgraduate qualifications and experience in Environmental Impact Assessment/Environmental Audit (EIA/EA) and monitoring are added advantages. The Consultant must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in implementing environmental and natural resources projects or programs. She/he must have at least three (3) years’ practical experience in implementing environmental safeguards with donor funded infrastructure projects. He/She must demonstrate clear understanding of World Bank and other donor funded Environmental and Social Framework and working knowledge of Gambia ’s Environmental Requirements (Policies, Laws, Regulations and Guidelines). The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to Section III, paragraphs, 3.14, 3.16, and 3.17 of the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” September 2023) (“Procurement Regulations”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest. A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Individual Selection (IS) method set out in the Procurement Regulations.
