Contract Title:
Replacement and Rehabilitation of Damaged Equipment at the Kotu Power Station
Reference No. (as per Procurement Plan): GESP/Works/C1/03.
- The Government of The Gambia has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Gambia Electricity Support Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for the Replacement and Rehabilitation of Damaged Equipment at the Kotu Power Station.
- The National Water and Electricity Company limited (NAWEC) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for:
Lot 1: Installation and Commissioning of 11kV Switchgear Equipment in Kotu A Power House.
Lot 2:- (i) Suplly, Installation and Comissioning of HFO Separators to Replace the Damaged Ones at Kotu D;
(ii) Correction and Rehabilitation of Steam System at Kotu D;
(iii) Supply, Installation and Commissioning of damaged/obsolete/missing equipment at Kotu B.
Final destination: Kotu Power Station, Greater Banjul Area, The Gambia.
Main qualification requirements:
Lot 1: Minimum 2 similar contracts during the last Five (5) years; minimum average turnover during the last Three (3) years of $1,500,000.
Lot 1: Minimum 2 similar contracts during the last Five (5) years for each of the type of equipment; minimum average turnover during the last Three (3) years of $1,500,000.
- Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement of Goods, Works and Non-Consulting Services under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers [January 2011 revised July 2014] (“Procurement Guidelines”), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Guidelines. In addition, please refer to paragraphs 1.6 and 1.7 setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
- Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Managing Director National Water and Electricity Company Limited, 53 Mamady Maniyang Highway, P.O. Box 609, Kanifing, Banjul, The Gambia and inspect the bidding documents during office hours 08:30am to 16:00pm Mon-Thurs and 08.30am – 12.00PM Fridays at the address given below.
- A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested eligible bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of US$200.00. The method of payment will be Deposited or Transfer. The document will be sent by Email or Courier.
- Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before September 7, 2017 at 12:00pm. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who choose to attend at the address below on September 7, 2017 at 12:30pm.
- Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of:

Lot 2 Twenty - Five United States Dollar (US $ 25 000.00)
