Training for 1000 teachers and trainers — Quality Education for All Project, Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe

REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OFSAO TOME AND PRINCIPE MINISTRY OF FINANCEAND PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION Project Administration and Fiduciary Agency QUALITY EDUCATION FORALL PROJECT CONSULTANCY SERVICE GRANT: IDA H 9030 STP TheDemocratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe has received a grant from the WorldBank for the preparation of the Quality Education for All Project andintendsto use part of this funding for the implementation, in 3 years, period of trainingto 800 basic education teachers (1 to 6 grades), 100 pre-school teachers and100 teachers trainers.

These personnel,already integrated into the education system, have diverse profiles but, all ofthem are in need of some formation and/or updating in order to strengthen theircompetencies to take part in improving the quality of basic educationchallenge. Theconsultancy service to be carried out consists of implementing and becomingoperative the training scenarios set forth by the sao-tomean authorities. Suchtrainings will target diverse existing groups.

For this end distance,presencial and semi-presencial training processes shall be used, as well asother needed combinations, taking into account in-service and post-servicetraining possibilities. This process(dynamic and intensive) shall also jointly integrate the technical assistanceto the teachers' training school of Sao Tome and Principe. In thiscontext, the Project Administration and Fiduciary Agency, the institution whichis in charge for the management of funds, allocated for supporting suchconsultancy, invites related institutions (universities, teachers' trainingschools, High Education Schools, High Institutions, Formation Centres, etc.) toexpress their interest in providing the above referred services, which maystart in middle September, 2015 (beginning of the coming school year).

Theproposed entities must provide information by indicating that they arequalified for providing training services, thereof must attach references ofsimilar consultancies made, etc. Aconsultancy entity shall be selected in accordance with the procedures definedunder the World Bank guidelines: selection of Consultants (current edition). Theproposed entities may collect additional information about the subject byrequest to the following address and times: from 8:00 0'clock to 12:00 o'clockand 3:00 pm o'clock to 5:00 pm o'clock (Sao Tome time), from Monday to Friday.
