Upgrade and Installation of Power Transformers and Switchgear — Gambia Electricity Support Project

SPECIFIC PROCUREMENT NOTICE The Gambia Gambia Electricity Support Project Loan No./Credit No./ Grant No.:P152659 Contract Title: Power Transformers Upgrade and Installation of Switchgear Reference No. (as per Procurement Plan): GESP/Works/C2/01 1. The Government of The Gambia has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Gambia Electricity Support Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for the Plant Design, Supply and Installation of Power Transformers Upgrade and Installation of Switchgear.

• The National Water and Electricity Company limited (NAWEC) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Power Transformers Upgrade and Installation of Switchgear as per the following requirements. (a) Quantity: 2 10MVA 33/11KV 3-phase Power transformers with auxiliary equipment and materials. (b) Final destination: Two substations, Greater Banjul Area, The Gambia. (c) Main qualification requirements: Minimum 3 similar contracts during the last Five (5) years; Minimum average turnover during the last Three (3) years of $2,000,000.

• Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement of Goods, Works and Non-Consulting Services under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers [January 2011 revised July 2014] (“Procurement Guidelines”), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Guidelines. In addition, please refer to paragraphs 1.6 and 1.7 setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.

• Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Managing Director National Water and Electricity Company Limited, 53 Mamady Maniyang Highway, P.O. Box 609, Kanifing, Banjul, The Gambia and inspect the bidding documents during office hours 08:30am to 16:00pm at the address given below.

• A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested eligible bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of US$150.00. The method of payment will be Transfer or deposit.

The document will be sent by Airmail/email or Courier or pick up. 6. Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 18th May, 2017 at 12:00pm. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected.

Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who choose to attend at the address below on 18th May, 2017 at 12:30pm. 7. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of $30,000.00.
