Strengthening capacity of frontline health workers to respond effectively to victims of violence. • Background of the assignment Surveillance activities involves data generation, storage and analysis to inform planning and policy formulation. A functional surveillance system is key towards strengthening the health system in Eswatini. The data architect will assist the ministry to rreview, evaluate, assess, analyse the current surveillance System in the context of One Health approach. The architect will ensure the identification and availability of different data platforms to allow surveillance data integration from different data sources within and outside health. This will assist in timely management and analysis of surveillance data which will further facilitate addressing health threats in the human, animal and environment interphase. • Objective of the Data Architect The overall objective of the data architect is to: • Strengthen the surveillance system and enhancing analytical capacity for real-time rapid reporting and analyses of surveillance data. • Strengthen capacity in preparedness for health emergencies. • Strengthen the disease surveillance system and enhance analytical capacity for real-time rapid reporting and analyses of surveillance data. • Review/Evaluate/Assess/Analyse of the current Surveillance System with focus on One Health. • Implement an Integrated One Health Surveillance System (IOHSS)
Develop a surveillance reporting application that will enhance IDNS, event-based surveillance in the context of one health approach. 4. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE • A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field;
Three years work experience in Microsoft SQL, Excel, Microsoft Access or other database management systems used in disease surveillance, MongoDB etc. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in One Health, Disease Surveillance or other public health experience essential. • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role. • Strong knowledge of database structure systems and data analysis principles for health emergencies and rountine disease surveillance. • Excellent collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills. 5. TIME FRAME OF ASSIGNMENT AND PAYMENTSCHEDULE The duration of the assignment is Nine-months period. 6. Responsibility and Management The Data Architect will work under the overall guidance of the Ministry of Health, Epidemiology and Disease Control Unit (EDCU) and under the direct supervision/guidance of the management in the EDCU. The Data Architect will report to the Senior Epidemiologist. 7.
